Job Description
As a Personal Injury Case Manager, you will manage prelitigation personal injury cases end-to-end, serving as a key point of contact for clients while supporting attorneys across all stages of case preparation. You bring strong legal knowledge, sharp organizational skills, and a genuine commitment to client service. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, juggle multiple deadlines without dropping the ball, and communicate with empathy and professionalism.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Case Management
- Manage prelitigation personal injury cases with direct client responsibility from day one
- Maintain and organize client files, ensuring all documents are accurately entered into case management software
- Coordinate with medical providers, insurance companies, and other parties involved in cases
- Assist with potential client intake calls as needed
Legal Support
- Assist attorneys with case preparation including drafting legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Follow legal procedures and maintain familiarity with New York law and terminology
Client Communication
- Manage all client communications — phone calls, emails, and appointment scheduling
- Provide exceptional client service, keeping clients informed of case progress and addressing their concerns with empathy
Administrative
- Perform general administrative tasks including data entry and filing
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail across all work product
Your Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, preferably in personal injury law
- Knowledge of New York law strongly preferred
Required Skills
- Strong customer service skills with empathetic, effective client communication
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Proficiency in legal research and familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
