We are looking for a Lead UI Technical Designer to help bring a AAA fighting game UI to life in Unreal Engine 5, bridging UX, art, design, and engineering from pre-production into production. You will prototype, iterate, and define scalable UI implementation patterns as the UI direction evolves.
Responsibilities

Implement UI screens, flows, widgets, animations, and interaction behaviors in Unreal Engine 5

Translate UX flows, wireframes, Figma designs, HTML prototypes, and documentation into functional in-engine UI

Partner with UI Engineers to define technically sound, scalable, and reusable UI structures

Integrate and polish UI art assets in-engine in collaboration with UI Artists

Prototype and refine frontend and in-match UI experiences through rapid iteration

Build and maintain UI prefabs, widgets, layouts, animation states, and interaction prototypes
-
Implement UI motion using UMG, Sequencer, materials, and Blueprint-driven workflows

Support 2D UI implementation, including 3D-anchored 2D-rendered gameplay UI elements

Validate UI across mobile-centric and multi-platform experiences

Align UI animations and feedback with sound and VFX teams to match the overall game style

Document implementation details, edge cases, interaction rules, and dependencies for production handoff

Contribute to seasonal updates, publishing tasks, and live-service UI iteration
Requirements

5+ years of experience implementing game UI in Unreal Engine

At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience

Strong experience with UMG and Blueprint-based UI workflows

Lead-level ability to partner with UX, art, and engineering to deliver scalable UI structures

Strong project execution skills to support production handoff, documentation, and dependency tracking

Advanced UI layout and interaction design knowledge, including responsive behavior

Strong UI motion and animation timing understanding for expressive but functional interfaces
-
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across UX, art, engineering, design, production, VFX, and sound

Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)

Experience with UE5 CommonUI

Experience on AAA or live-service games, including fighting, action, multiplayer, or competitive titles

Experience with HTML prototypes or hybrid design-to-engine prototyping workflows

Experience implementing UI animations using Sequencer and materials

Familiarity with approved AI-assisted tools for prototyping, documentation, or production acceleration
