We are seeking a Full-stack Node.js Engineer to join a strategic technology modernization initiative focused on the progressive decommissioning of COBOL components, migrating critical functionalities to a modern, maintainable and scalable architecture using Node.js for the backend and Angular for the frontend.
Responsibilities

Develop new backend functionalities using Node.js

Build and maintain frontend interfaces using Angular

Utilize services available on AWS

Participate in the technical and functional analysis of existing COBOL processes

Collaborate on the migration of business logic from legacy systems to new applications
-
Work with relational databases, SQL queries and stored procedures when necessary
-
Contribute to technical definitions with the Tech Lead and other team members
-
Ensure good development practices, code quality, testing and maintainability
-
Support the technical and functional documentation of migrated processes
-
Analyze incidents, bugs or functional differences between the legacy system and the new solution
-
Support comprehensive testing, user validations and production deployment phases
-
Gain an understanding of the processes being implemented, their interactions and the impact of the changes being made
Requirements
-
2+ years of experience in software development working with Node.js, Angular and cloud services on AWS
-
Solid experience developing backends with Node.js and frontends with Angular
-
Familiarity with AWS services
-
Knowledge of REST API design and consumption
-
Experience with relational databases and proficiency in SQL
-
Background in production systems with complex business logic
-
Capability to analyze legacy processes and migrate them to modern solutions
-
Sound technical judgment for writing maintainable, scalable and testable code
-
Experience working in agile teams

Ability to interact with technical, functional and business stakeholders

English proficiency at B2 level or higher

Experience in COBOL shutdown projects or legacy system migrations

Familiarity with batch processes, scheduled jobs or file-based integrations

Background in the financial, fintech or payment processing and high-transaction industries

Knowledge of CI/CD
