JOB DESCRIPTION
As an Equity Derivatives Deal Review Associate in the Deal Review team within Equity Derivatives Operations, you act as a key control to help ensure the deal agreed with the client is correctly booked and risk-managed in firm systems and is consistent with executed legal documentation. You will perform deal reviews for over-the-counter and securitized trades across desks and regions, escalating exceptions and partnering with stakeholders to strengthen control processes. You will also support reporting and analysis to identify trends, control gaps, and improvement opportunities.
Job Summary

Review trade economic terms against internal booking and risk records to confirm accuracy and completeness

Compare legal confirmations and term sheets to internal records and identify breaks, missing details, or inconsistencies

Escalate unissued or unexecuted documentation and material exceptions within required timelines

Investigate issues end to end and drive timely resolution in line with business standards

Partner with middle office, front office, and internal stakeholders to resolve booking and documentation discrepancies

Identify incorrect booking practices and help educate stakeholders on downstream impacts and risks

Prepare recurring reporting (weekly and monthly) for senior management, including key controls and issue status

Analyze trends, spikes, and root causes to improve controls and reduce repeat breaks

Participate in testing for system enhancements, project implementations, and new business initiatives

Recommend control enhancements and process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness

Maintain clear documentation of reviews, exceptions, actions taken, and outcomes
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) finance/economics-related

Derivatives knowledge
-
Experience in operations, trade support, confirmations, settlements, or a comparable control-focused role in financial services

Ability to review complex information accurately and identify discrepancies with strong attention to detail

Drive Efficiency in the current process and identifying incorrect booking practices and control gaps

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear escalation and stakeholder updates

Demonstrated ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet service level expectations

Strong numerical skills and comfort working with large volumes of data and time-sensitive tasks

Proficiency with common productivity tools (e.g., Excel, email, and document tools)

Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Sound risk awareness, including understanding the operational and control impacts of booking or documentation errors

Ability to build and maintain effective partnerships across multiple stakeholder groups
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Equity derivatives product knowledge and/or experience supporting equity derivatives trading activity

Exposure to over-the-counter and/or securitized products and related lifecycle events

Experience producing operational reporting and analyzing trends to identify control gaps and root causes

Knowledge of ISDA documentation and/or experience reviewing confirmations and term sheets
- Experience supporting testing for system changes, implementations, or new product/initiative rollouts

Familiarity with regulatory-driven controls and reporting expectations relevant to derivatives
