About Us
Shadowlight Center is a therapy and coaching practice helping people live more connected, meaningful lives. Our work blends psychotherapy, coaching, and meditation, and we're expanding into digital content, courses, community offerings, and a future podcast.
We're a small, close team—two co-founders and two clinicians—and we work in a hands-on, collaborative way. This role reports directly to the founders.
The Role
This role has two sides. The first is content creation. We have a clear creative vision for our content and need someone who can help us execute and build on it. You'll work closely with the founders to produce video, motion design, newsletters, and social content.
We're not looking for someone to run the creative strategy—we're looking for a skilled collaborator who can take direction, contribute ideas, and help create content that feels polished, engaging, emotionally intelligent, and aligned with our voice.
The second side of the role is administrative; helping support the day-to-day operations of a small business. Billing, inboxes, scheduling, website updates, and coordination work all need to be handled reliably and thoughtfully, especially since some responsibilities involve communication with therapy clients.
Content & Creative Work
- Edit video and audio content—cutting clips, selecting strong moments, adding text overlays and title screens
- Identify the best moments in long-form recordings and turn them into short-form content
- Help produce motion design and AI-assisted psychoeducation videos based on the founders' creative direction
- Build and send weekly newsletters in Mailchimp using content provided by the team
- Prepare and post social media content
- Help refine messaging, titles, captions, and positioning
- Support future podcast production including editing, publishing, and distribution
Administrative Support
- Respond to prospective and existing client inquiries professionally, warmly, and promptly while maintaining confidentiality and appropriate boundaries
- Input and track payments and follow up with clients on billing
- Update the Squarespace website—adding pages, editing content, and supporting course launches
- Assist with scheduling, calendar coordination, and Zoom webinar support
- Communicate with insurance companies or service providers as needed
- Handle other administrative support tasks as they arise
What We're Looking ForCreative Skills
- Strong video editing skills—cutting, pacing, text overlays, assembling content that feels clean and intentional
- A strong design sensibility—composition, typography, color, and layout. Formal training is welcome but not required. We care most about the quality of the work.
- Good instincts around tone, pacing, and what feels engaging or meaningful online
General Requirements
- Excellent, fluent English—written and spoken
- Experience with social media content creation and scheduling
- Comfortable with professional client communication
- Highly organized, reliable, and able to work independently
- Reliable high-speed internet connection
- Ability to learn new tools and systems quickly
Creative Tools & Skills We'd Especially ValueAfter Effects, Premiere, Final Cut, Canva, Figma—or whatever your creative toolkit is.While we'll collaborate closely on creative direction and content ideas, we're especially interested in someone who already brings hands-on experience or curiosity around visual storytelling, motion design, editing workflows, and creative software that goes beyond our own technical skill set. We're also interested in people exploring new AI-assisted creative tools for animation, video, and content production such as Runway, Midjourney, and similar platforms.
Tools We Use (We'll Train You)
Mailchimp, Squarespace, SimplePractice, CapCut, Vimeo, Zoom, and Google Workspace. You do not need to know all of these already, but you should be comfortable learning new systems quickly.
Preferred
- Background or interest in psychology, wellness, coaching, or mindfulness
- Alignment with thoughtful, non-pushy approaches to marketing
- Experience supporting small businesses, creators, or mission-driven organizations
- Familiarity with podcast production workflows
Technical Setup
A reliable high-speed internet connection is essential and will be confirmed during screening. Shadowlight Center will provide a VoIP phone for client and administrative communication.
Selected candidates will complete HIPAA training as part of onboarding due to the nature of client communication and scheduling responsibilities.
Schedule & Collaboration
Most work will happen during U.S. Eastern business hours, particularly for meetings and client-related communication. However, this is not a role where we need to be working simultaneously at all times, and there is flexibility for independent work outside overlapping hours.
Compensation
$4–7 /hour USD starting rate depending on experience and skill level, with opportunities for increased compensation as responsibilities and contribution grow. 20 hours a week during the training period that could last 90-120 days, with an expectation to go full-time after the training period.
