Design Consultant — Lighting & Interiors
Remote · Latin America · Full-Time · 9–6 EST
You can walk into a half-finished room, see the light it’s missing — and make the customer see it too.
So… who is Residence Supply?
We’re the fastest-growing design-driven lighting & hardware brand in the U.S. In two years we blew past 8 figures, launched hundreds of handcrafted SKUs, and built a cult following of design lovers who care more about heritage than hype. Our fixtures live in Architectural Digest–worthy homes and boutique hotels — and our customers don’t just want a product, they want help getting the room right.
The Role
Customers book a design consultation on our website. You’re the person who shows up on that call.
You listen to what they’re building, understand the space, and guide them to the right fixtures — the right scale, the right finish, the right light. Depending on the project, you’ll put together product selections and pricing, and prepare CAD drawings or 3D renders so they can actually see it before they buy. You are equal parts designer and trusted advisor: the reason a browsing customer becomes a confident, high-value one.
This is a full-time, fully remote role on U.S. Eastern hours.
What You’ll Actually Do
- Run booked design consultation calls — show up prepared, listen well, and turn a vague idea into a clear plan.
- Guide product selection across our catalogue — scale, finish, light temperature, placement, and how pieces work together in a room.
- Build quotes and pricing for the customer’s selections, and follow up until the project closes.
- Prepare CAD drawings and 3D renders where the enquiry calls for it, so customers can see the space before committing.
- Own the customer relationship from first call through purchase — answer questions, revise selections, and keep momentum.
- Handle trade and design-professional enquiries (designers, contractors, hospitality projects) with the same care.
- Feed insight back to the team — what customers ask for, what’s missing from the catalogue, what keeps coming up.
Who You Are
- You’re an interior designer, or you have real design training and a genuinely good eye. You can look at a room and know what it needs.
- You’re fluent in design software — AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, V-Ray, Enscape, Revit, or equivalent — and can produce clean drawings and convincing renders.
- Excellent spoken and written English. You’re confident, warm, and clear on a live video call with a customer.
- You’re comfortable being measured on outcomes — this role has a sales target, and you’re motivated by closing the projects you design.
- You’re organised and responsive. Customers get answers quickly, and nothing slips.
- You actually care about lighting, interiors, and how a space feels — not just the software.
Bonus Points
- Spanish fluency — a real advantage with a meaningful share of our customers.
- Experience selling or specifying lighting, furniture, or high-end home products.
- Experience with trade/B2B design clients, or in a showroom environment.
- Comfort with AI tools to speed up rendering, mood boards, and concepting.
What This Is (And Isn’t)
This is a design-led, customer-facing role that drives revenue. You are NOT doing cold outreach — every call is a warm, booked enquiry from someone already interested. You are also NOT running full interior design projects end-to-end; you’re guiding product selection and producing the drawings and renders that help customers commit.
