Role Summary
The Senior QA Engineer owns the quality of Tecnotree's Digital BSS solutions, bringing expertise in manual and automation testing, telecom business processes, and end-to-end validation of OSS/BSS applications. This role is responsible for ensuring that everything from CRM and Billing to Provisioning, Order Management, and Mediation & Charging systems performs reliably and meets both functional and non-functional requirements before it reaches a customer. The ideal Senior QA Engineer is genuinely passionate about software quality and reliable telecom service delivery, and brings the rigor, curiosity, and attention to detail needed to catch issues before they become production problems.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Analysis & Test Design
- Hands-on QA experience across multiple E2E Digital BSS transformations spanning Mobile, Fixed Line, and Broadband services for Tier-1/Tier-2 CSPs across Americas , Europe or Global markets.
- Analyze business and functional requirements & User stories for telecom BSS applications, translating them into clear, testable acceptance criteria.
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases, test scenarios, and test plans covering the full breadth of application functionality.
- Ensure test coverage is traceable back to business requirements, so nothing critical slips through untested.
- Understanding of TM Forum industry standards ( ODA , Open APIs , eTOM, SID ) throughout the QA lifecycle, ensuring solutions are consistent, interoperable, and aligned with industry best practice as part of QA certification.
Test Execution & Coverage
- Perform Functional, Regression, Integration, System, Smoke, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across the application landscape covering UI & APIs.
- Validate OSS/BSS applications, across Digital Channels, Product Catalog , CRM, Charging & Billing, Collections, Order Management, Integration, Inventory Management, and Network Provisioning ensuring each integrates and performs correctly end-to-end from various Customer Journeys perspective
- Execute API testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or REST Assured to validate service-level functionality and integration points.
- Hands-on experience in AI-based Automation testing tools e.g. Selenium to create efficiency in automated regression testing suites
- Validate BSS applications from Performance & NFR ( Non-functional requirements ) testing perspective
- Perform database validation using MongoDB queries to confirm data integrity and correctness across the application stack.
Defect Management & Collaboration
- Identify defects early during requirement & design phase , architecture reviews & sprint demos
- Report, track, and verify defects using tools such as Jira and DevOps, maintaining clear and actionable defect documentation.
- Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to investigate, triage, and resolve issues efficiently.
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, contributing a quality-first perspective to team discussions.
- Provide detailed test evidences across multiple test environments & release quality recommendations & communicate risks to program leadership
Reporting & Quality Standards
- Prepare clear test execution reports and quality metrics that give stakeholders visibility into release readiness.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with QA standards and best practices, helping raise the overall quality bar across the team.
- Ownership of QA certification of Releases going to Production and address Prod defects reported by customers
Required Skills & Technical Expertise
Testing Methodologies
- Experience creating test strategies , test plans , test scenarios and Automation strategies
- Strong knowledge of manual testing methodologies, with the ability to design thorough test coverage without relying solely on automation.
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and how QA fits within each phase.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology and experience working within sprint-based delivery cycles.
Tools & Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools, specifically Postman and/or Swagger and Automation tools such as Selenium
- Good working knowledge of SQL and database testing techniques.
- Experience with Integration patterns , kafka or other event-streaming technologies
- Experience with defect tracking tools, including Jira and DevOps.
- Experience with CI/CD and automated quality control
- Hands-on testing experience with AI Agents , LLMs, MCP servers , RAG and Agentic AI concepts & frameworks

Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience across the technologies, domains, and skills outlined above.
- Prior experience within the Telecom domain (OSS/BSS) is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Fluency in English is required; Spanish language skills are a strong plus.
