We are looking for a Lead Java Server-side Engineer to drive a Backend-for-Frontend service layer powering high-traffic mobile products used by clients worldwide. Responsibilities

Architect and build the Backend-for-Frontend API layer consumed by mobile applications

Implement REST endpoints and define service contracts aligned to mobile user flows

Optimize backend performance through profiling, analysis, and focused improvements
-
Modernize legacy code through refactoring to improve reliability and readability
-
Create clean, testable code and keep unit test coverage at a strong level
-
Connect to existing backend services and manage bespoke and legacy dependencies
-
Diagnose defects, identify root causes, and release safe patches quickly
-
Partner with engineers, product partners, designers, and QA to deliver features end to end
-
Contribute to CI workflows and strengthen build tooling to keep releases smooth

Promote great user experience by influencing API and data design decisions

Reduce technical debt by removing redundant code and keeping the codebase healthy
Requirements

Extensive background in Java building server-side applications (5+ years)
-
Strong collaboration skills in senior-level, cross-functional environments
-
Proven strength in solution design for problems with unclear constraints

Expert-level Spring Boot experience building and maintaining services
-
High proficiency in REST API development, including working with legacy services
-
Deep understanding of algorithms and data structures for efficient code

Consistent unit testing ability with a test-driven approach
-
Working knowledge of build tools and practical experience with CI workflows

Demonstrated performance profiling and optimization skills for backend services
-
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for production incidents

Ownership mindset with proactive communication and follow-through

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience

Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2) for effective communication
