SECTION 01 : About Flax Labs
Flax Labs is a full-service D2C ecommerce growth agency based in Canada, working exclusively with US and Canadian Shopify brands. We run Meta + Google ads, creative production, landing pages, and email/SMS for brands doing $50K–$500K+/month in revenue. We're building the most AI-integrated agency in the space — our proprietary dashboard and automation tools give our clients a level of visibility and speed that traditional agencies can't match. We're a small, fast-moving team that punches way above our weight. We need someone who can own growth strategy across our client roster AND execute on Meta buying — a true player-coach who combines strategic thinking with hands-on campaign management.
SECTION 02 : The Role
You'll be the strategic brain and primary Meta buyer across our client accounts. You look at a Shopify brand's data — their ads, creative, landing pages, email flows, unit economics, and customer journey — know exactly what levers to pull, and then actually pull them.
This is an ownership role. You set the growth strategy for each client and you execute it on the biggest channel — Meta. You're not handing off a plan and hoping someone runs it right. You create the strategy, you run the campaigns, and you see the results firsthand. That feedback loop is what makes great media buyers great.
You'll Own:
- Meta Ads management — day-to-day campaign management across all client accounts. You build campaigns, manage budgets, test creative, scale winners, and kill losers.
- Client growth strategy — the big picture for each account. What's working, what's not, what we're testing next, and why. You connect creative, media, CRO, and retention into one cohesive plan.
- Performance analysis — you dig into the data and tell the story. Not just 'ROAS is down' but the full diagnosis of why and what to do about it.
- Weekly strategy direction — you set the plays for the team each week. Creative angles, landing pages, email flows, spend allocation across channels.
- Client communication — you're the strategic voice on client calls. You explain what we're doing, why, and what's next.
- Creative strategy — you don't design ads, but you know what makes ads work. You write creative briefs, define testing hypotheses, and evaluate performance.
- Cross-channel coordination — you work with our Google Ads buyer to optimize the full paid media mix across Meta and

You'll report directly to Jean Lavigne (Founder/CEO) and work alongside:
N I N A — H E A D O F D E L I V E RY : She runs the operational machine. You decide what the machine should be building. You two are the leadership duo that owns delivery.
G O O G L E A D S B U Y E R : You coordinate strategy across channels. You own Meta, they own Google, and together you optimize the full paid media mix.
C R E AT I V E T E A M : You brief them on what to build and why. You evaluate performance and feed learnings back into the next round.
E M A I L / S M S S P E C I A L I S T You direct the retention strategy and make sure it ties back to acquisition.
SECTION 04: What We're Looking For
Must-Haves:
3+ years managing Meta Ads for D2C ecommerce brands — you've personally managed $30K–$200K+/month in ad spend on US/Canadian Shopify stores
Strategic thinking beyond just buying — you understand how Meta fits into the broader growth picture (Google, email, CRO, creative, unit economics)
Shopify ecosystem fluency — you know how Shopify stores work, what good unit economics look like, and how to think about AOV, LTV, and contribution margin
Creative strategy chops — you can look at an ad and tell us why it's working or not. You write briefs that give designers and UGC creators what they need
Strong English communication — you'll be on client calls and writing strategy docs. Clear, confident, and articulate
Data-driven but not paralyzed — you make decisions with imperfect data. Strong opinions, loosely held
Experience working with US/Canadian brands — you understand the market, the consumer, and the competitive landscape
Nice-to-Haves:
Google Ads experience (PMax, Shopping, Search)
Klaviyo / email & SMS experience Experience with AI tools in marketing workflows
Understanding of creative production pipelines (UGC, static ads, video)
Familiarity with tools like Motion, Foreplay, Triple Whale, Northbeam
Experience managing or mentoring junior buyers
