Hennessey Digital is seeking a highly creative Video Editor with experience producing cinematic, story-driven content for social media. This role will primarily support the personal brand of CEO Jason Hennessey, transforming podcasts, interviews, educational content, and thought leadership into engaging short- and long-form videos that educate, inspire, and build authority.
The ideal candidate understands that exceptional editing goes beyond cutting clips—it creates emotion, reinforces messaging, and keeps audiences engaged through pacing, sound design, motion graphics, and visual storytelling. We're looking for someone who stays current with modern editing trends and understands how content performs across today's social platforms.
This role may also support video content for companies within the Hennessey Group as needed. Partial overlap with U.S. business hours is required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Edit compelling, educational, and cinematic video content for YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other digital platforms.
- Transform long-form podcasts, interviews, webinars, and presentations into engaging short-form social media content optimized for each platform.
- Apply cinematic editing techniques including storytelling structure, pacing, music selection, sound design, color grading, transitions, motion graphics, and visual effects that enhance viewer engagement.
- Create dynamic motion graphics, animated captions, lower thirds, branded title cards, end screens, and other visual assets using Adobe After Effects or similar tools.
- Incorporate modern editing styles such as kinetic typography, subtle motion graphics, zoom transitions, AI-generated B-roll, split-screen storytelling, and other emerging social video techniques where appropriate.
- Source and integrate licensed stock footage, music, sound effects, and AI-generated visual assets that elevate storytelling.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm creative concepts, hooks, and editing approaches that maximize audience retention and engagement.
- Manage post-production workflows including media organization, ingesting footage, transcoding, archiving, and maintaining project files.
- Create multiple video variations optimized for different social platforms and aspect ratios.
- Manage and publish content to Jason Hennessey's social media channels as assigned.
- Prioritize multiple projects while consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining a high standard of creative quality.
Experience & Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional video editing experience producing content for social media, marketing, or digital brands.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating cinematic storytelling, engaging pacing, and high-quality editing for short-form and long-form video.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
- Preferred experience with Google Flow and other AI editing tools
- Experience with color correction, color grading, audio balancing, dialogue editing, sound mixing, music selection, and sound design.
- Experience creating motion graphics, animated typography, and branded visual assets.
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling, emotional pacing, and audience retention techniques.
- Familiarity with current video trends across TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
- Experience utilizing AI-powered creative tools such as Runway, Descript, Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT, ElevenLabs, Midjourney, or similar tools is a plus.
- Experience organizing media libraries, managing project assets, ingesting footage, transcoding, and maintaining efficient post-production workflows.
- Experience developing social-first content and understanding platform-specific best practices is preferred.
- Photography or cinematography experience is a plus.

Pay: From $29,749.66 per hour
