Project Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Data Analyst to join an analytics team on a project basis. This role reports to the Senior Director of Data Analytics.
The focus of this position is to execute analytics and reporting deliverables, translate business questions into clear data outputs, and support the team with high-quality, timely analysis.
The team is currently undergoing a migration to Sigma, including deprecating legacy features, which will require significant bandwidth. Once ramped up, the analyst will also support ongoing ad hoc and day-to-day analytics requests.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute end-to-end analytics and reporting projects, including requirements gathering, data modeling, validation, and delivery.
- Translate business questions into structured analytical approaches and actionable insights.
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and data models across merchandising, marketing, inventory, and operations.
- Support self-serve analytics by developing business-friendly dashboards and well-documented data models.
- Manage workload independently, tracking tasks, timelines, and blockers clearly.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings alongside leadership to gather requirements and clarify business needs.
- Break down and manage Jira tickets, contributing to task decomposition and delivery planning.
- Write SQL queries in Snowflake and develop analytics logic primarily in SQL.
- Build Sigma workbooks and support BI layer development (with most logic handled upstream in Snowflake).
- Perform QA and validation of datasets, dashboards, and outputs (peer-reviewed).
- Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Handle ad hoc analytics requests while maintaining quality and accuracy.
Top Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related roles (retail/e-commerce experience is a plus)
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including: Joins, CTEs, Window functions, Aggregations
- Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred)
- Experience with BI tools such as Sigma, Tableau, or Power BI
- Ability to independently execute analytics projects end-to-end
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience building dashboards, metrics, and data models for reporting and self-serve analytics
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong documentation and analytical thinking skills
- Understanding of retail business drivers (merchandising, marketing, inventory, operations)

- Experience with Snowflake (strong advantage)

- Retail or e-commerce background
- Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate workflows
