This role requires full-time dedication, with clear priority given to Darwoft projects during the established working hours.
It is not compatible with other full-time professional engagements. Any additional professional activities must be disclosed in advance and must not interfere with the responsibilities or working hours of this role.
At Darwoft, we build custom software solutions and partner with international companies to create high-impact digital products.
We are a Latin American technology company with a people-first culture, strong technical standards, and a long-term partnership mindset. We work with distributed teams, complex engineering challenges, and customers where technology has a direct impact on business outcomes.
We are looking for professionals with strong technical judgment, autonomy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build robust, scalable, and sustainable solutions.
We are looking for a Senior or Principal Solutions Engineer to help enterprise customers adopt a software-modernization platform and integrate it into their engineering environments.
You will act as the primary technical bridge between customer engineering organizations, Platform Engineering teams, Customer Success, product teams, and internal engineering stakeholders.
This is not a traditional pre-sales role, a support position, or a purely advisory Solutions Architect opportunity. You will remain deeply hands-on: diagnosing Java and JVM issues, integrating enterprise build systems, developing OpenRewrite recipes, troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines, and helping customers execute modernization programs across large codebases.
You will also help organizations connect automated code transformation with emerging AI-assisted development workflows. This includes supporting governed and deterministic ways for coding agents to operate across enterprise repositories.
The role requires strong technical credibility, excellent communication skills, and the ability to move comfortably between source code, system architecture, customer workshops, implementation planning, and executive conversations.
-
Own the technical execution of post-sales engagements with enterprise customers.
-
Build trusted relationships with engineering leaders, architects, Platform Engineering teams, and senior stakeholders.
-
Understand customer objectives, software portfolios, delivery processes, and organizational constraints.
-
Translate business priorities into practical modernization strategies.
-
Identify technical risks, adoption barriers, dependencies, and opportunities.
-
Maintain alignment between customer requirements and platform capabilities.
-
Provide structured technical feedback to product and engineering teams.
-
Lead discovery sessions, technical workshops, and implementation planning.
-
Present platform concepts to engineering and executive audiences.
-
Demonstrate automated code transformation and enterprise modernization workflows.
-
Train customer teams on platform capabilities and OpenRewrite fundamentals.
-
Help engineering organizations develop internal modernization expertise.
-
Create technical documentation, examples, implementation guidance, and reusable enablement materials.
-
Adapt communication depth according to the audience without losing technical precision.
-
Help customers plan modernization across hundreds or thousands of repositories.
-
Support Java runtime upgrades and Spring Boot modernization programs.
-
Guide legacy application and platform migrations.
-
Define portfolio segmentation, pilot groups, migration waves, and rollout strategies.
-
Establish testing, governance, observability, and rollback practices.
-
Help customers measure progress, adoption, coverage, and migration completion.
-
Balance delivery urgency with technical safety and long-term maintainability.
-
Design, develop, test, and deploy custom OpenRewrite recipes.
-
Translate customer-specific code patterns into reusable and deterministic transformations.
-
Support customers as they build and maintain their own recipes.
-
Diagnose transformation edge cases involving parsing, source analysis, compilation, or accuracy.
-
Work with concepts such as Lossless Semantic Trees — LSTs.
-
Build reusable patterns for framework upgrades, security remediation, dependency changes, and code-quality improvements.
-
Contribute to the expansion of transformation coverage across enterprise ecosystems.
-
Integrate the platform with customer development environments and CI/CD pipelines.
-
Troubleshoot Maven and Gradle builds, dependency conflicts, classpaths, and compilation failures.
-
Work with multi-module projects and private artifact repositories.
-
Support integrations involving Artifactory, Nexus, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI.
-
Diagnose issues across repositories, source code, pipelines, security controls, and infrastructure.
-
Build evidence-based diagnostic plans in ambiguous customer environments.
-
Resolve complex escalations requiring direct technical investigation.
-
Help customers adopt AI-assisted software-development workflows responsibly.
-
Integrate coding assistants and coding agents with automated code transformation.
-
Support workflows involving AI-generated code and agent-driven pull requests.
-
Establish validation, testing, approval, and rollback practices for AI-generated changes.
-
Help customers distinguish probabilistic generation from deterministic transformation.
-
Identify recurring patterns in AI-generated code that require remediation or governance.
-
Translate those patterns into reusable recipes, engineering controls, and quality standards.
-
Work with tools and concepts such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, MCP, agent frameworks, and OpenRewrite recipes used as agent tools.
-
Identify additional modernization opportunities across customer application portfolios.
-
Monitor relevant language, framework, platform, and infrastructure releases.
-
Help expand transformation capabilities beyond Java when appropriate.
-
Collaborate with customers, engineering teams, partners, and open-source communities.
-
Advocate for customer needs while maintaining scalable and reusable platform practices.
-
10+ years of experience in software engineering, Solutions Engineering, hands-on Solutions Architecture, technical consulting, or enterprise-facing technical roles.
-
Strong hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting enterprise software.
-
Deep knowledge of Java, the JVM, and the broader Java ecosystem.
-
Advanced experience with Maven, Gradle, dependency management, and enterprise build systems.

Strong systems thinking and the ability to navigate complex technical environments.
-
Excellent English communication skills.

High autonomy and sound technical judgment.
-
Ability to comply with customer-required background checks, subject to applicable local regulations.
-
Direct hands-on experience with OpenRewrite.
-
Experience developing, testing, or deploying custom OpenRewrite recipes.
