About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Email Marketing Specialist with at least 3 years of hands-on experience planning, building, testing, launching, and optimizing email marketing campaigns across different platforms.
This person should be comfortable working inside multiple email marketing tools, editing or building emails with HTML, managing campaign calendars, setting up automations, and reviewing performance metrics. We're looking for someone detail-oriented, organized, technically capable, and able to work across different client accounts in a fast-paced agency environment.
This role is a strong fit for someone who understands both the creative and technical sides of email marketing.
Key Responsibilities
The Email Marketing Specialist will be responsible for:
- Building and launching email campaigns across various email marketing platforms.
- Creating, editing, and troubleshooting HTML email templates.
- Managing email newsletters, promotional campaigns, automated flows, and lifecycle sequences.
- Setting up customer journeys, drip campaigns, segmentation, and triggered automations.
- Performing quality assurance before every send, including testing links, images, tracking, mobile responsiveness, personalization, and rendering.
- Working with designers, copywriters, strategists, and account managers to execute campaigns accurately and on time.
- Segmenting audiences based on behavior, engagement, purchase history, lifecycle stage, or campaign objectives.
- Monitoring campaign performance, including open rates, click rates, conversions, revenue, unsubscribe rates, and deliverability.
- Preparing reports and making recommendations to improve campaign results.
- Supporting A/B testing for subject lines, content, offers, design, CTAs, and send times.
- Maintaining email marketing best practices across deliverability, compliance, list hygiene, and campaign structure.
- Managing multiple client accounts and priorities at the same time.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years of email marketing experience.
- Strong experience working in multiple email marketing platforms.
- Hands-on HTML experience for email creation, editing, formatting, and troubleshooting.
- Experience building email campaigns from start to finish.
- Experience with email automations, flows, journeys, or drip campaigns.
- Strong understanding of email QA and testing before launch.
- Ability to work with audience segmentation and personalization.
- Experience analyzing campaign performance and preparing reports.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Email Marketing Platforms Experience
You do not need to know every platform, but should have experience with several tools such as:
- Klaviyo
- Mailchimp
- HubSpot
- ActiveCampaign
- Active Campaign
- Customer.io
- SendGrid
- Omnisend
- Drip
Experience with Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or Active Campaign Marketing Cloud is especially valuable.
Technical Skills
You should be comfortable with:
- HTML for email
- Basic CSS for email formatting
- Responsive email templates
- Email rendering and compatibility testing
- UTM tracking
- List segmentation
- Email automation setup
- Campaign QA
- Deliverability basics
- Analytics and reporting
Experience with tools like Litmus, Email on Acid, Google Analytics, Shopify, WooCommerce, or CRM platforms is a plus.
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Experience working with a marketing agency.
- Experience managing email campaigns for multiple clients.
- B2C email marketing experience.
- Experience with lifecycle marketing, retention marketing, or CRM marketing.
- Experience with SMS marketing.
- Experience with landing pages or basic design tools such as Canva or Figma.
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as CAN-SPAM, GDPR, or other email privacy regulations.
- Experience with project management tools.
