About The Job
Business Unit Separator Technologies is responsible for the sale of separation equipment and extraction lines for Olive Oil and Avocado Oil. In this role, you work on a global basis and support our markets with product and application expertise. You perform joint customer visits with the local sales teams and oversee the sales process from opportunity to order closure.
The main purpose for this role is to empower the sales companies within your region, to make sure olive oil and avocado oil producers select Alfa Laval as their first choice when building new lines or upgrading their existing mills. You will partner with sales companies with the objectives to empower them to close business, conduct business development, and have a clear regional plan. You are the one who knows the market and how to connect it with our internal organization, and the regional business the best, and must be on top of strategy, targets, offerings, on-going sales projects, pricing, market and competition.
The position is intended to be in Cordoba (Spain) or Poggibonsi (Italy), and requires regular traveling, around 100 days per year.
Curiosity and a customer-oriented mentality are a prerequisite for this position. The market is constantly changing, and you adapt accordingly. Prompt action to address quotation requests, special customer needs, or unforeseen challenges are vital to secure our leading position in the market.
Who you are?
We are looking for a person with a strong technical and commercial interest. Most of our customers have a deep knowledge of processing, located in the world's olive and avocado growing regions, therefore experience in olive oil is highly desired. It is a requirement that you are proficient in Spanish or Italian, additionally to English. Previous hands-on experience is an asset. You have analytical skills and a creative mind. You take own initiative and motivate others, and you are honest and have a positive approach. You should hold a master’s or bachelor’s degree in industrial or Agricultural Engineering with at least 5 years of experience within the Olive Oil segment.
You are our customers’ voices centrally and a reliable support to our local sales teams. You interact comfortably on all levels of an organization both internally and externally. You respond to customer needs with technical solutions and follow through on our strategies to achieve growth targets. Knowledge-sharing is vital to secure the best possible quality in our offering.
Key tasks:
Keep proactive and coordinated communication with the business centers located in Sienna (Italy) and Cordoba (Spain).
Build and maintain relationships with the sales companies within assigned regions.
In coordination with the sales companies build relationships with the market in order to drive businesses in short and long term.
Engage in the daily sales projects, teamwork together with sales companies, business centers and BU organization
Establish a Regional Business Plan, follow-up and reporting (OI, CGM, MS, NI).
Continuously collect information regarding market, and competitors.
Be specialist in the Olive Oil and Avocado Oil processes
Providing input for target and alarm prices as well as “below alarm request”
Identifying business opportunities, proposing input for process improvement, proposing sales tools and participating in product launches
Provide adequate training and manage day-to-day support.
Participate in development of new products and processes.
