We are seeking Semi-Senior Mechanical Engineers to join our Redtree LATAM team in Buenos Aires and contribute to thermal power generation projects for the U.S. market. This role offers the opportunity to work on international projects alongside a specialized technical team, developing expertise across the full engineering lifecycle.
Position Overview
As a Semi-Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will join our Mechanical Engineering team and contribute to the design and development of thermal power generation facilities. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering phases, taking ownership of assigned deliverables while working to U.S. project standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop mechanical, process, or piping engineering deliverables for thermal power generation projects.
Prepare and review technical documentation, including datasheets, specifications, calculations, and equipment lists.
Support the sizing and specification of mechanical equipment, piping systems, and balance-of-plant systems.
Contribute to P&ID development, heat and mass balance review, and hydraulic or thermal calculations.
Collaborate with electrical, instrumentation, civil, and structural disciplines to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
Support technical coordination with vendors and clients throughout the engineering phases.
Apply applicable U.S. and international codes, standards, and client specifications.
Maintain accurate project documentation and drawing records.
Required Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering.
6–10 years of experience in industrial or energy projects.
Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following: process engineering, mechanical engineering, or piping engineering.
Experience preparing and managing technical engineering documentation.
Advanced English, spoken and written — mandatory, as all project work is conducted in English.
Based in Buenos Aires or the surrounding metropolitan area.
Preferred Qualifications
We highly value candidates with experience in:
Power generation projects — thermal plants, combined-cycle facilities, or reciprocating engine plants.
Industrial plants across oil & gas, chemical, or process sectors.
Engineering and simulation software such as AFT Arrow, AFT Fathom, Thermoflow, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or Navisworks.
U.S. codes and standards, including ASME, API, and NFPA.
Multidisciplinary and multicultural project teams.
Strong organizational skills and clear technical communication.
