About the Job

The Accountant will manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and external audits. This person will work with the accounts payable function, monthly closing of accounts, and preparation of reports in support of the financial statements. The Accountant will report to and work closely with the Director of FP&A and others in the organization in analysis and reconciliation of accounts and development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls. The ideal candidate possesses leadership capabilities, robust operational and technical accounting background, and works proactively to drive results. This person is a self-starter, flexible, has a high level of integrity, and is action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, and account reconciliations.
Responsible for day-to-day accounting activities, including AP accrual, banking, fixed asset, and general accounting.
A key participant in full-cycle month-end close, including recording journal entries, account reconciliations, ensuring proper period recognition of expenses, and accruals are appropriately coded and reversed.
Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
Develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Support all internal and external audits to ensure compliance with GAAP and tax codes.
Work closely with HR Dept. to ensure payroll and tax reporting is accurate.
Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
The Sr. Accountant will support budgeting, forecasting, and cash management activities.
Preparing and filing non-income tax returns, including sales and use tax, commercial activity tax, and estimated tax payments.
Other duties may be assigned

Education / Experience / Qualifications:

BA/BS in accounting or finance with minimum three years of accounting experience including general accounting/account reconciliations
Experience with transfer price and foreign exchange accounting is a strong plus
Strong analytical skills, documentation skills, and people skills
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
