Description
Data Analyst II, Targeting & Alignment (T&A), supports the operational execution of targeting, territory alignment, data intake, sales operations, and downstream commercial deliverables. This role serves as a critical link between raw data inputs, data lake ingestion, ticket-based issue resolution, and final T&A outputs used by internal stakeholders and commercial teams.
The analyst role will process ZIP-to-territory and targeting files, support territory loading and data lake requests, manage operational tickets, validate data quality, perform manual data manipulation for non standard business needs, and help translate business rules and strategic requirements into accurate targeting and alignment outputs. The role requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn new tools, processes, and commercial analytics methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
Targeting and Alignment execution

Support T&A team with territory loading, ZIP-to-territory processing, data lake requests, and related alignment system activities.

Assist with identification of the target universe based on approved business rules, client requirements, and commercial strategy.

Support account profiling using product, market, HCP, HCO, CRM, and other relevant commercial data sources.

Prepare, validate, and maintain targeting, alignment, call planning, and territory management outputs used by commercial teams.

Support territory optimization, workload balancing, and footprint coverage analyses.
Data intake, processing, and Data lake operations

Manage the intake, validation, processing, and documentation of raw commercial, sales, customer, targeting, territory, and market data files.

Process ZIP-to-territory and targeting files for delivery into the enterprise data lake environment and downstream T&A workflows.

Monitor data movement across internal platforms, applications, reporting environments, and data lake processes to ensure timely availability for business use.

Perform data quality checks to identify discrepancies, missing values, formatting issues, and data anomalies before downstream consumption.

Maintain process controls, file documentation, and repeatable operating procedures for recurring data workflows.
Analytics, Data insights and Operations management

Perform targeting, alignment, overlap, gap, funnel, and ad hoc analyses to support business decisions.

Conduct data validation, matching, exception analysis, and CRM universe maintenance to ensure data accuracy and quality.

Develop reports, insights, and recommendations from commercial data assets.

Manage operational tickets, data movement, and issue resolution across systems and stakeholders.

Maintain data workflows, SOPs, and documentation to support efficient and scalable operations.

Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and adoption of new tools and technologies.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Data Management, Information Systems, Finance, Mathematics, Life Sciences, Data Science, or a related field.

1-3 years of experience in data operations, sales operations, commercial analytics, healthcare analytics, or a related function.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data validation, and structured data manipulation.

Experience working with large, structured datasets and performing detailed quality-control checks.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.

Experience managing operational workflows, ticket-based issue resolution, and recurring business requests.

Excellent attention to detail, documentation discipline, and data quality mindset.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain data issues and resolution steps clearly.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare commercial operations, or life sciences analytics.

Understanding of sales force operations, territory alignment, targeting methodologies, call planning, and customer master data.

Experience with data lakes, cloud-based data environments, enterprise data platforms, or data ingestion workflows.

Familiarity with SQL, Python, Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, or other data querying, automation, or visualization tools.

Experience with CRM, Veeva, Salesforce, HCP/HCO data, claims data, prescription data, or commercial data ecosystems.

Exposure to fuzzy matching, data standardization, deduplication, and master-data maintenance concepts.
