Skills and Competencies
Minimum 3 years of experience in financial analysis, credit risk, or related fields, with strong practical application of economics and finance
Solid accounting knowledge and strong financial statement analysis capabilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured, and concise credit narratives. English communication skills are a plus
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; basic knowledge of Python or other finance-related programming languages is a plus
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Collaborative mindset, professional skepticism, and strong commitment to ethical standards
Ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities

Responsibilities
The Associate Credit Analyst ML will conduct ongoing credit analysis of financial institutions in Argentina and Uruguay to support accurate ratings, research, and market insight in accordance with Moody’s Local methodologies.

Interpret and analyze financial statements and other data sources to perform preliminary credit analysis

Develop working knowledge of Moody’s Local methodologies and apply them consistently in credit assessments

Prepare financial spreadsheets, charts, and models; analyze financial data; build and update forecasts; and draft analytical commentary in line with Moody’s methodologies

Perform preliminary credit analysis to support ratings, research, analytical outreach, and presentations under the guidance of team leaders

Collaborate closely with senior analysts to support rating actions and publications, and contribute to workflow improvements and analytical best practices

Gather and prepare financial and qualitative information related to issuers rated by Moody’s Local

Identify and understand key factors affecting credit ratings, escalating issues or risks as appropriate under the guidance of lead analysts

Support credit monitoring and surveillance activities by updating analytical components, preparing surveillance data, and initiating or escalating deeper credit reviews when required

Formulate a clear and well-supported rating rationale and present analyses at rating committees, including leading committee discussions when appropriate

Participate in issuer and investor interactions alongside senior analysts; prepare insightful questions for management meetings and follow up on information requests

Ensure data integrity across internal systems, document analytical judgments, and adhere to methodologies, controls, and compliance requirements
