We have a product team that's built an e-commerce platform, quoting tools, a tracking portal, vendor API integrations, and internal systems on Odoo — but the team needs a technical leader who can architect what comes next, make hard platform decisions, and ship fast. We're at the stage where the technology either becomes our competitive moat or it stays a nice-tohave.
What you'll own
The platform decision. We're currently on BigCommerce B2B + SparkLayer. It's boxedin. Magento/Adobe Commerce is the likely migration path. You'll evaluate, decide, and execute — with full authority.
- Distributor API integrations. We're connected to 4 out of 400+ vendors. The rest are manual (email, bi-weekly price scraping). You'll build the architecture — direct APIs where available, N8N/AI agent workflows where not — to give us real-time global inventory visibility.
- The quoting and buying experience. Our portal wows customers in demos, then they go back to email. You'll figure out why (corporate email restrictions, procurement portal compliance, RFP workflows) and build the product that meets customers where they actually work — whether that's Ariba/Coupa punch-out catalogs, email-to-order parsing, or something we haven't thought of.
- Internal technology backbone. Odoo is our ERP but it's not being used properly. Live inventory needs to be trustworthy every day. Quoting data needs to flow through the system, not through email threads. You'll own the internal tooling that makes ops, sales, and finance actually trust the numbers.
- Data and AI. We want to build demand forecasting from multiple signals: inventory fluctuations across distributors, public RFPs (Ariba, Coupa, government portals), customer purchasing patterns, public events (World Cup → YouTube → CDN server demand). You'll build the data pipeline and the AI layer. Our "second brain" initiative is already underway.
- Logistics technology. Evaluate and potentially implement Flexport or build similar capability: freight coordination, tracking, customs documentation, IOR routing logic (which entity in which country handles which shipment type).
- The engineering team. Today it's a small team. You'll hire, mentor, and build an engineering org. You're player-coach for the first 12 months — writing code and architecture, not just managing.
We're a IT hardware procurement and logistics company growing 4x year-over-year. We buy, ship, and track IT hardware across the Americas — servers, networking, AV, and now AI infrastructure (GPUs). Our customers include Google, Oracle, Meta, Snowflake, Tesla, and Netflix. We operate in 15+ countries with our own warehouse in Miami, coordinate our own international freight, and run an e-commerce platform with real-time pricing from distributor APIs. We are building the B2B Amazon for IT hardware — and we need the technical leader to make that real.
Requisitos
What we're looking for:
- 8+ years in software engineering, with at least 3 years leading teams (VP Eng, Head of Engineering, or CTO at a startup/scaleup)
- Built and shipped customer-facing products — e-commerce platforms, B2B SaaS, or marketplace/logistics tech
- Hands-on with modern stacks: Node/Python, React, APIs, cloud infrastructure. You can still architect and code, not just draw diagrams
- Experience with ERP integrations (Odoo, SAP, NetSuite) or similar — you know what it takes to make internal systems actually trustworthy • Comfortable with AI/ML in production — not research, but practical: LLM-powered workflows, data pipelines, automated agents
- Experience with API integrations at scale — connecting to dozens of external systems with varying quality and reliability
- Bonus: understands international logistics, customs, or supply chain tech
- Bonus: experience with e-commerce platform migrations (BigCommerce, Magento, Shopify Plus, custom)
- Fluent English required. Spanish is a strong plus given our LATAM operations
