The Position: The Client Accounting Manager will work directly with business owners to provide high quality financials along with expert service and support. You will serve a variety of small businesses, understand their needs, and deliver insights to help drive improved results. You will be a key member of our growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage client expectations by delivering monthly/quarterly financial results and providing a high level of service while meeting key deadlines
- Review monthly bookkeeping and prepare month-end close for clients. This includes reviewing reconciliations and performing adjusting entries as necessary
- Direct junior staff, review their work for accuracy, and provide feedback and guidance to them
- Work with and develop relationships with clients using video platforms and recording tools such as Loom
- Submit sales tax reporting and 1099s, update cash flow forecasts, budgets, and perform other ad hoc client requests when required
- Prepare Form 1099s and support other ad hoc client requests when required
- Investigate accounting issues and identify and implement remedial actions
- Work cross-functionally with Tax and other team members to deliver value to clients
Other Duties:
- Assist in onboarding, internal process improvements, and other internal initiatives
Qualifications:
- Associates degree (or higher) in accounting degree preferred
- 5+ years of bookkeeping experience preferred
- Strong Quickbooks Online experience (General Ledger, Reconciliations, financial reporting)
- Experience with Fathom and other financial reporting / visualization tools is a plus
- Experience with or interest in working directly with small business owners
- Detail oriented with strong understanding of tax and accounting principles
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively explain financial concepts to clients
- Forward-thinking – Strong interest in learning and applying new tools and technologies
- Ability to solve problems in a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment
