Monks is seeking a Creative Technologist in Buenos Aires to serve as the vital connective tissue between high-concept creative design, emerging technical execution, and top-tier global client delivery. We are looking for someone who bridges an undeniable design eye with deep technical acumen, optimizing for a candidate with a high-quality track record of applying novel and emerging technologies to scale top-tier creative output across multimodal mediums rather than sheer length of tenure.
In this role, you will embody the philosophy of selecting the right technical approach for the right job—pragmatically evaluating, benchmarking, and pairing the ideal tools, generative AI models, node-based computational workflows, and tech stacks tailored specifically to the brief at hand.
Operating in a highly dynamic environment, you will collaborate across diverse multidisciplinary partners—including Account Management, Program & Project Management, Creative Directors, and Technical Leads—as well as interfacing directly with client teams.
Above all, this position requires a proactive, project-enhancing mindset. We need a self-starter who actively seeks out ways to elevate creative delivery, anticipates roadblocks, and shapes project outcomes rather than waiting for the next ticket to show up in a queue.
- Technical Evaluation & Benchmarking ("Right AI Approach for the Creative System"): Systematically evaluate and benchmark the output quality of various tools, frameworks, and generative AI models against one another to select the most suitable approach for high-fidelity creative delivery.
- Proactive Delivery Enhancement: Drive projects forward with an ownership mindset—actively identifying opportunities to elevate quality, optimize pipelines, and streamline execution without waiting for top-down task assignments.
- Multimodal GenAI & Node Workflows: Harness, benchmark, and orchestrate generative AI models across modalities (image, music, voiceover, video manipulation) and construct node-based computational workflows to scale creative execution.
- Brand Nuance & Contextual Adaptation: Understand and execute the subtle nuances of various brand marks and identity systems across physical, digital, and game-style worlds.
- Upfront Feasibility Evaluation: Interrogate briefs early alongside Creative Directors and strategy leads to assess technical viability, flag platform limitations, define optimal tech stacks, and protect creative ambition before production begins.
- Cross-Functional & Client Engagement: Partner dynamically across internal disciplines (Account Managers, Program/Project Managers, Creative Directors, and Technical Leads) and engage directly with client teams to present prototypes and manage delivery milestones.
- Proactive Global Communication: Maintain continuous alignment across global teams and client partners with exceptional English communication—setting expectations early, raising flags proactively, and translating complex technical trade-offs for non-technical stakeholders.
- Design Eye Meets Technical Acumen: High visual design sensitivity (typography, UI/UX polish, spatial aesthetics) combined with clean coding abilities.
- AI-Native Development Fluency: Comfort working within modern AI-assisted development environments (e.g., Anti-Gravity, Cursor, Claude Code) to rapidly build, iterate, and ship solutions. Working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern web standards (CSS, Tailwind) is expected, along with the ability to read, diagnose, and debug code but deep traditional full-stack depth is not a hard requirement. We're optimizing for speed and craft in AI-assisted iteration over classical engineering tenure.
- System & Model Benchmarking Track Record: Proven experience evaluating, testing, and benchmarking emerging technical systems and generative AI models to determine output quality and suitability for tier-1 brand execution.
- Proactive, Anti-Ticket Mindset: A self-directed operator who thrives in dynamic environments, takes initiative to solve unstated problems, and focuses on enhancing overall project delivery rather than passively checking off tickets.
- Multimodal Generative AI Stack: Familiarity with generative AI models across image, music, voiceover/audio synthesis, and video manipulation/editing.
- Modern Design & Creative Tools: Proficiency with modern design platforms (Framer, Figma) and the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, along with familiarity with node-based creative logic systems (e.g., ComfyUI, Weavy).
- Brand System Literacy: Proven ability to navigate, interpret, and maintain brand identity integrity across diverse visual environments (digital, physical, and gaming/3D contexts).
- Global English Communication: Exceptional written and spoken English with the confidence to lead technical conversations with client teams and collaborate across global time zones.
Nice-to-Haves / Pluses:
- Nodal / VFX Background: Experience with Nuke, Fusion, Houdini, or ComfyUI is a huge plus. This background signals a proven ability to architect the technical processes needed to reach beautifully crafted, production-grade output.
- Google Platform & Web Ecosystem: Familiarity with Google web standards, Google Cloud tools, or Google creative and media platforms.
- Scalable Multimodal & 3D Delivery: Hands-on technical execution to scale creative assets across web, 3D interactive environments, and spatial mediums, maintaining strict visual and performance standards.
- 3D Web Frameworks: Experience with Three.js, WebGL, or Babylon.js.
