We are looking for a Senior Backstage.io GCP DevOps Engineer to build and operate a developer platform on Google Cloud Platform, with a deep focus on integrations, infrastructure, and deployment automation. You will work across distributed teams, align with a workday shift up to 2 PM PST, and deliver platform capabilities end-to-end. Apply now.

Responsibilities

Design and operate infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform to support platform services
Build and maintain hosting and deployment workflows for web applications and Node.js backends
Integrate Elastic Stack entities into a Backstage catalog and related platform views
Implement Backstage extensions, templates, and render scripts to enable self-service workflows
Build a secure capability to run Terraform scripts as part of platform automation
Integrate JIRA Service Desk capabilities into the developer portal experience
Integrate Jenkins CI/CD capabilities into the platform to improve developer workflows
Collaborate with distributed, cross-functional teams while aligning to a work shift up to 2 PM PST
Apply AI-assisted development practices to improve delivery speed and quality

Requirements

3+ years of DevOps experience for web applications and Node.js hosting and deployment
Google Cloud Platform experience supporting production workloads
Elastic Stack (ELK) integration experience
Ability to work independently across distributed, cross-functional teams
Strong ownership mindset and problem-solving skills
Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and agent-based workflows for productivity
Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2)

Nice to have

GitHub Copilot experience for AI-assisted development and agent workflows
Jenkins administration or pipeline development experience
Node.js and Node.js CLI development experience
TypeScript development experience
Redis experience for caching or platform services
