Argentina, is accepting applications for the position of Solution Architect – PCN Utility.
Successful candidates will join the IT Organization, which is part of a multifunction service and
technical center with a workforce of more than 1800 employees that deliver business services
and solutions to the corporation across the globe.
The Solution Architect – PCN Utility is responsible for defining, designing, and
governing end-to-end technical solutions across the Operational Technology (OT) / Process
Control Network (PCN) landscape. This role ensures that PCN utilities (e.g., hardening,
compliance, patching, backup, monitoring, secure file transfer and foundational services) are
architected in alignment with cybersecurity guardrails, OT standards, and enterprise architecture
principles.
The Solution Architect will work closely with Product Owners, Software Engineers,
Cybersecurity, and Site Operations to translate business and operational needs into scalable,
secure, and supportable solutions deployed across multiple PCN sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define end-to-end solution architectures for PCN Utility capabilities, ensuring
secure-by-design, resilience, and operational sustainability across OT environments.
- Translate business, operational, and cybersecurity requirements into architectural
designs, technical standards, and implementation patterns for PCN solutions.
- Establish and maintain reference architectures, design patterns, and technical guardrails
for on-premises and hybrid OT solutions.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Agile teams to guide solution design throughout the
delivery lifecycle, from concept through deployment and operations
- Review and approve solution designs, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, OT
cybersecurity policies, and PCN standards.
- Provide architectural guidance and hands-on technical leadership during complex
implementations, integrations, and site deployments.
- Partner with Cybersecurity and Infrastructure teams to embed compliance, hardening,
patching, and recovery requirements into solution designs.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying architectural risks, technical debt, and
opportunities to standardize or simplify PCN utilities.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong experience designing on-premises or hybrid architectures for OT / industrial
environments (e.g., SCADA, DCS, PLCs, and PCN-segmented networks).
- Deep understanding of OT cybersecurity concepts, including network segmentation,
defense-in-depth, hardening, vulnerability management, and compliance in PCN
environments.
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible) and
scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python; working knowledge of Linux and
Windows platforms.
- Proven ability to design integrations, APIs, and shared services that support scalable utility
capabilities across multiple sites.
- Familiarity with Agile / Scrum delivery models and experience supporting development
teams with architectural direction and design review.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valuable Certifications (Preferred)
o ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Certifications, demonstrating deep knowledge of
industrial cybersecurity architecture and controls.
o TOGAF or equivalent enterprise / solution architecture certification, supporting
structured architectural thinking and governance.
o Networking certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP Enterprise or Security) with relevance
to segmented OT / PCN network architectures.
o Platform or infrastructure certifications (e.g., Microsoft Windows Server or Hybrid
Architecture certifications) relevant to on premises or hybrid OT environments
- Experience with the following tools is highly valued:
o SteelCloud (or equivalent compliance / configuration assessment tools)
o GoodSync (or secure file transfer / synchronization platforms)
o Ivanti Security Controls (or patch management / endpoint configuration tools)
o Golden image / OS image management (BOSS images or equivalent – Windows
and Linux)
- Understanding of Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmarks for all Windows and Linux
related technologies.
- Understanding of hardening requirements for Industrial Control Systems.
- Experience in Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum or SAFe) to effectively manage product
backlogs, prioritize features, and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Understanding of the unique challenges and regulatory requirements within the oil and
gas industry, enabling the development of tailored OT solutions that enhance operational
efficiency
Professional Competences:
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and systems-thinking skills with the ability to balance
standardization and site-specific needs.
- Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts to both
technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working across globally distributed,
multidisciplinary teams.
