Job Description
An immigration law firm is seeking organized, responsible, and detail-oriented bilingual paralegals to join its remote team. The selected candidate will assist with the preparation, review, and follow-up of immigration cases under the supervision of the attorneys responsible for each matter.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize immigration forms, applications, and case files.
- Review documents and information provided by clients.
- Assist with the preparation and follow-up of asylum applications, EOIR-42B Cancellation of Removal cases, and Motions to Reopen (MTRO/MTR).
- Maintain accurate and current information in the firm’s case management system.
- Communicate professionally with clients in both English and Spanish.
- Monitor deadlines, hearings, appointments, expiration dates, and assigned tasks.
- Draft letters, declarations, exhibit lists, indexes, and case-related communications.
- Conduct research and provide support to attorneys and supervisors.
- Protect the confidentiality of client information.
- Comply with the firm’s internal procedures, performance expectations, and quality standards.
- Promptly report any delay, difficulty, or circumstance that may affect a case.
Qualifications
- Advanced English proficiency, both written and verbal.
- Previous experience as a paralegal or in immigration case preparation.
- Knowledge of or experience with asylum applications, EOIR-42B Cancellation of Removal cases, and Motions to Reopen is preferred but not required.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Professional communication skills, accountability, and initiative.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and digital file management.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a remote team.
- Reliable internet connection and a private workspace suitable for calls and the protection of confidential information.
