We are hunting for a first-class Senior Software Engineer to join our crew.
This role goes well beyond a typical backend engineering job - we are looking for grounded, delivery-focused engineers who can rapidly orient themselves to new environments, produce fully functional solutions, and harness today's AI technology to push development velocity higher. Engineers on this team will act as critical problem solvers, rotating across multiple groups to neutralize live production issues, roll out new capabilities, and bolster system stability - frequently under pressing timelines and in highly dynamic conditions.
Responsibilities
-
Familiarize yourself rapidly with unknown code repositories, get applications running on local environments, and deliver functional outcomes within compressed schedules
-
Diagnose and untangle complex production defects spanning multiple platform teams
-
Guide features through every stage of delivery, from coding and integration testing to release through CI/CD pipelines
-
Contribute to distributed system architectures and sizable enterprise microservice landscapes
-
Use AI-based copilots (such as Copilot, Claude Code, or related tools) to draft and refine code, create and improve test suites, and streamline debugging along with everyday engineering tasks
-
Carefully scrutinize what AI generates and rectify any inaccuracies, flawed assumptions, or overlooked details
-
Assemble, troubleshoot, and improve build pipelines using technologies such as Gradle, Maven, and various CI configurations
-
Team up with platform groups to resolve incidents and put protective measures in place to stop them from happening again
-
Lead SWAT engagements and coordinate cross-team remediation efforts (relevant for the lead position)
Requirements
-
A minimum of three years of applied experience as a software engineer
-
Solid history of involvement with enterprise-grade distributed systems and microservice-driven architectures
-
Strong working knowledge of Java for developing backend services
-
Hands-on capability in designing, implementing, and connecting to REST APIs
Proven autonomy in handling a project from start to finish — from clone build debug modify test- integrate into a CI pipeline
-
Practical exposure to CI/CD platforms (such as GitHub Actions or similar) for automating compilation, testing, and deployment processes
-
Solid grasp of build utilities like Gradle and Maven, including dependency handling and environment configuration
-
Deep diagnostic and root cause analysis capabilities covering compilation failures, dependency clashes, and runtime malfunctions
-
Genuine track record of folding AI tools into development practices well past simple autocomplete, including thoughtfully structured prompts, multi-stage AI-supported processes, and iterative refinement of generated artifacts
-
Ability to verify AI-produced code, recognize missing pieces or unfounded assumptions, and bring the output up to production-grade quality
-
Sharp judgment regarding when AI accelerates the work and when conventional engineering should take over
-
Capable of operating well under tight pressure, in unclear contexts, and with limited oversight
-
Excellent English fluency in both writing and speech (B2+ level or higher)
Nice to have
-
Practical familiarity with Kotlin for backend or other JVM-related development
-
Real-world experience with Spring Boot for shipping production-quality microservices
-
Exposure to agent-based frameworks or agent orchestration tools (such as Claude Code, LangGraph, or similar)
-
Skill with sophisticated developer tooling and productivity setups (such as tmux, Warp, or scripted workflow configurations)
-
Earlier engineering experience using Go (Golang) for backend service work
