We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to own our enterprise AWS architecture vision and drive cloud-native modernization across the organization. In this role, you will define target-state architectures, establish engineering standards and govern cloud strategy while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence, security and cost efficiency.
Responsibilities

Own the enterprise AWS architecture vision, reference architectures, engineering standards and cloud governance model

Define target-state architectures, cloud guardrails and operating principles across AWS environments

Establish a cloud-native, managed-services-first strategy, including technology selection criteria and exception processes
-
Definition and governance of AWS multi-account architecture, including AWS Organizations, Control Tower, Organizational Units (OUs), account lifecycle management, IAM strategy, network architecture and security boundaries

Develop and maintain the cloud modernization and technical debt reduction roadmap, identifying workloads to modernize, re-platform, refactor, retire or retain

Definition of approved AWS services, reusable design patterns and reference architectures for compute, containers, serverless, storage, databases, integration, observability and data platforms

Establish standards for Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, policy-as-code, automated testing, release management and cloud platform automation

Definition of architecture patterns and governance for observability, monitoring, logging and operational telemetry leveraging platforms such as Datadog and native AWS services

Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Platform Engineering and application teams to establish landing zone architecture, infrastructure automation, deployment standards, security, resiliency, disaster recovery, operational readiness, cost, performance and operational efficiency standards

Review and approve complex solution designs, cloud migrations and strategic platform initiatives

Governance of architectural compliance and alignment with AWS Well-Architected Framework principles, including security, reliability, operational excellence, performance efficiency, cost optimization and sustainability

Collaborate with FinOps to incorporate cost visibility, capacity planning and financial accountability into architectural decisions
Requirements

7+ years of experience in software development

Proven experience in cloud architecture and enterprise AWS environments

Expertise in AWS Organizations, Control Tower and IAM
-
Proficiency in VPC, Transit Gateway and Route 53
-
Knowledge of ECS/EKS, Lambda and event-driven architectures
-
Skills in RDS, DynamoDB and S3
-
Competency in CloudFront and API Gateway
-
Expertise in Terraform, Infrastructure as Code and policy-as-code
-
Background in GitLab, CI/CD architecture and platform automation
-
Understanding of deployment strategies, environment promotion models and DevSecOps practices
-
Familiarity with Datadog, CloudWatch and logging, monitoring and observability
-
Knowledge of SRE principles, cloud security architecture and governance
-
Proficiency in resiliency, backup, disaster recovery and operational excellence

Advanced proficiency in English (C1+)
