We are seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to drive quality across APIs, web UIs, and performance-critical systems.
In this role, you will design and maintain robust automated test suites, execute performance testing in CI pipelines, and ensure that quality standards align with real business impact. You will work closely with engineering teams to shape testing strategy from architecture and service boundaries, leveraging modern tools and AI-assisted approaches to deliver reliable, scalable software.
Responsibilities
-
Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for APIs (sync and async) and web UI using TypeScript and modern E2E frameworks
-
Execute and evolve performance testing within CI pipelines, analyzing results against application and infrastructure metrics
-
Correlate load results with CPU, memory, saturation, queue depth, and latency histograms to identify bottlenecks
-
Integrate and maintain automated tests in CI platforms, managing failing builds, artifacts, flaky tests, and quality gates
-
Approach testing from architecture and service boundaries rather than relying solely on UI script lists
-
Report defects clearly with expected vs actual results, supporting evidence, and severity aligned to business impact
-
Leverage AI-assisted tooling to accelerate test creation and coverage
-
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle
-
Continuously improve test reliability, execution speed, and maintainability across the automation suite
Requirements
-
Hands-on experience in software testing, including 3+ years of hands-on test automation and 1+ years of hands-on performance testing
-
Proficiency in test automation for APIs and web UI using TypeScript and modern E2E frameworks (Playwright preferred), including sync and async APIs
-
Demonstrable performance testing background, including within CI
-
Skills in correlating load results with application and infrastructure metrics such as CPU, memory, saturation, queue depth, and latency histograms
-
Expertise in writing and maintaining tests in CI systems (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar), including handling failing builds, artifacts, flaky tests, and quality gates
-
Capability to design tests from architecture and service boundaries rather than only from UI script lists
-
Competency in defect reporting with clear expected vs actual results, evidence, and severity aligned to business impact (e.g., distinguishing a wrong Call Report or cross-tenant leak from a minor UI glitch)
-
Hands-on experience creating tests with AI tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Claude Code, or similar) — AI Gen QA is a must
-
Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher
Nice to have
-
Background in Grafana k6 in production use, including distributed load generators
-
Familiarity with Kubernetes-deployed systems
-
Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and Prometheus, or equivalent observability tools
-
Experience with systems featuring spiky, deadline-driven load (tax, payroll, trading close, regulatory filing)
